-Peggy ahwesh
martinas playhouse
some home footage from the 70's-late 80's, totally endearing, jennifer montgomery( also a filmaker) was totally rad in it.
-Bruce Conner
looking for mushrooms
montage film. really epic, beautiful. also with a track by terry riley!
Easter Morning
also re-arranged collaged footage. terry riley track again!
-Ben Coonley
The future of metal
-totally hilarious old footage of his 8th grade school metal concert. so good. you can imagine what 13 year olds in 1990 that desperately wanted to be a metal band could be like, if you cant imagine then somehow get ahold of this film.
-all his films were good. Totally honest, low-fi, uses his cat alot.
-Shana Moulton
-domestic scenes where magic arrives and sometimes whips you away into this fantasy world of animation and 3-d. pretty brilliant stuff.
-Ben Russell
Trypps #6 (malobi)
-Village people dancing in a some type of ritual ceremony with western halloween masks and costumes. Totally an interesting take on setting up an arch or orchestrating some form of event but really in the end letting it happen however and realizing that maybe the uncontrolled part is the best part. (this might not make sense, but for me it does).
this guy is real brilliant. capital B!
-J.P Sniadecki
Songhua
-An interesting doc about a the songhua river which is a small towns source of survival. films very quiet, voyeristic, never intrusive. in one scene the locals mistake J.P for not knowing any chinese and talk about him on film. there are subtitles. they call him a russian among other things. all playful though. little did they know, he is a master of the language. he resides at harvard.
Jonathan Schwartz
nothing is over nothing
-in jerusalem. some really great footage of small intimate happenings on the street. one woman lights a ciggarette and smiles. subtle shadows of palm trees on the sidewalk. daily life. goods.
